The Ekoteko Vuokatti project determines the energy efficiency and carbon foot prints of the Vuokatti tourist area in terms of accommodations, activities and traveling, food deliveries and waste collection. Prior to the Ekoteko Vuokatti project, the Energiapuisto (“Energy Park”) pre-project was implemented.

The purpose of the Energiapuisto pre-project was to create a comprehensive picture of the energy needs, energy saving potential and implementation models of the Snowpolis – Sports Institute area, as well as map out the necessary background information for the further project.

THE RESULTS INCLUDED:
- Basic information on the energy consumption structure in the area
- Energy needs of future buildings
- The possibilities and models of saving and adjustment
- Background information for the further project
- The foundation for energy solutions in the Vuokatti area

PRACTICAL SAVINGS:
The energy study achieved positive results. The savings potential of the energy costs of buildings is tens of thousands of euro, and approximately 60 % of these savings can be achieved in less than a year.

The results of the Ekoteko Vuokatti project will be published on this site as the project progresses, as well as in the final report of the project in 2012.

We will also announce authority regulations and changes to the applicable legislation.
